“On April the 1st 2026, the first BSFChYR Zonal Tournament of the year was held in the town of Rakitovo. We were invited and participated with enthusiasm. The day was rainy, but when we arrived in Rakitovo, the rain stopped and remained quiet the entire time.
Our foundation participated with a total of 10 young people – 8 football players and 2 track and field athletes. Three of the football players also participated in the track and field competitions. One boy ranked 3rd in the juniors. Both competed in the girls. One girl ranked 2nd in the “running” discipline.
There were three football matches in total, but unfortunately we were unable to win. The good thing is that we had fun.
We will work on our mistakes and are looking forward to the next tournament – the spring state championship of BSFDMR in the city of Sofia.”

Georgi Kavarkov is the coach of the football team of the foundation – “Don Bosko – Lozenets”. He and Marie Anna Kapitsova are working on projects “Education – the key to a better future”, 2024-1-BG01-ESC51-VTJ-000223373 and 2025-1-BG01-ESC51-VTJ-346438, co-financed by the EU program “European Solidarity Corps”.
Marie Anna Kapitsova is also a football player, but in this case she was responsible for the girls and their participation in the athletics competitions.
