“On February 14, 15. and 16., the second meeting of the “Course for animators”, cycle 2024-2026, was held in the town of Kazanlak. 13 boys and girls from different settlements in Bulgaria participated: Stara Zagora, Plovdiv, Rakovski, Zhitnitsa, Shumen, Yambol and Sevlievo. The Bulgarian organizers led the course together with our long-term volunteers from the European Solidarity Corps from the Czech Republic – Antonin Sikula and from Armenia – Alvard Kara-Gevrogian.
The program took place in a festive atmosphere and intensive preparation. In addition to presentations on pedagogy and ecology, a workshop on
Christian values was also held. There were lectures and staged games in which the participants could test their ingenuity, their teamwork skills and creativity.
On Saturday evening, the participants performed several plays dramatizing a family story with the characteristics of some of the nationalities of those who were present (Armenia, Czech Republic, Guatemala, Bulgaria).
It was big fun and enriching moment, because it allowed us to appreciate the value of cultural diversity from a different perspective.
In the coming months, the participants will have two more meetings.
The course cycle, which lasts two years with a total of eight meetings, is currently in its initial phase. We look forward to the next meeting to continue learning together, with a view to providing quality volunteer services in different parts of Bulgaria.”
