From Friday 18. till Sunday 20. February in the town of Kazanlak was held the first meeting for planning summer camps for 2022. The meeting was attended by 21 people – animators, ESC volunteers and Salesians. As at any such meeting, there was work, games, rest.
Saturday morning was dedicated to the training topic “Don Bosko’s Preventive System” – it seeks to draw attention to important points in the pedagogy of St. John Bosco and his special attitude to youth. In the afternoon, were agreed the educational topics that will be discussed with the children during the camps.
The meeting took place in a family atmosphere of joy and enthusiasm. Everyone was satisfied with the results obtained and the commitment of the participants to the proposals.
We hope to hold a second meeting before the summer, which will complete the coordination of the programs of each camp and thus provide for another year an attractive and rich experience for young people in Bulgaria.

Here are the impressions of one of the animators – Yanitsa: “The first planning of the summer camps for 2022 took place from 18. to 20. February. At the beginning we were greeted with big smiles by volunteers from the European Solidarity Corps. The next day started with a short topic – a preventive system that will surely help us during the summer camps. Then we helped with the wood for the coming cold days. The day ended with the initial preparation for the camps. We divided into teams that gradually began to prepare the camps. In my group – team for the girls ‘camp, we first went back to the final evaluation of the last girls’ camp, then we started choosing three goals for the camp. We created a common disc so we could share our ideas for the camp in the rest of the time when we’re not together We finished with the disc this time. We will continue in May at the next camp planning meeting, where we will form the camp program. “
Main organizer of the meeting was František Šustek, a volunteer from the European Solidarity Corps, who works in Stara Zagora and Kazanlak on the project “Education – the key to a better future 3”, 2021-1-BG01-ESC51-VTJ-000037011, co-financed by the EU program – ESC.
