Winter camp boys, 20-21.02.2021, Moruley hut

“I had the opportunity to organize and participate in the winter camp for Roma boys, which took place on February 20. and 21. We were in the Moruley hut near the village of Dalboki. Boys from the Roma neighborhood “Lozenets”, Stara Zagora participated. The theme of the camp was: the life of St. Joseph. We started with the wedding of St. Joseph and the Virgin Mary, which took place in Stara Zagora. On the occasion of the wedding we danced with the children the traditional Bulgarian dance – “horo”. After the wedding we went to the hut and continued with the next topic: the dream of St. Joseph. After a delicious lunch Fr. Petr Cvrkal told the boys in detail about the birth of Jesus and the flight to Egypt. In the afternoon we read about Jesus lost in the temple. We had prepared an interesting game for watching animals. Later, during a walk in the woods, we discussed how Jesus taught to be a carpenter. During the camp we also made some beautiful “Martenitsas”. The last topic was the death of St. Joseph. The whole weekend was accompanied by games, but the spiritual theme was not missing. This was my first big event with Roma children and I am very happy to be a part of it.” Radek
