And in the time of the quarantine the volunteers from the European Solidarity Corps – Marketa Venclova and YJana Pustejovska, who work in Stara Zagora under the project “Education – the key to a better future”, 2019-2-BG01-ESC11-062662, co-financed by the EU program ESC, did not stop to work. At the very beginning of the crisis, they started sewing masks – for the team, for the children, young people and their families from the Lozenets district, for people in need, for whom we understood that they had nowhere to get masks. They maintained an online connection with the children and young people from CICES Stara Zagora, who had internet and the opportunity for online contact. They also got involved with the construction of the “Salesians of Don Bosko” – a school and church “Virgin Mary Help of Christians” – mixed paints, painted walls, washed windows. The girls help the Salesians in town of Kazanlak with the cutting of the woods for the winter. They participated in organizing an online meeting with the animators to prepare for the summer camps, which are part of their personal projects. Both volunteers will have a key leadership role during the summer camps. They took online lessons in Bulgarian. After the measures were releaed, Marketa and Jana began to restore their usual activities with the Roma children and youth.
