From 6 to 10 July, a scout camp was held at Dekotex Hut in Karandila, with the participation of 12 children from the Don Bosco Bulgaria Foundation. The theme of the camp was inspired by the world of Narnia and focused on the value of family – the place where we learn about love, trust, mutual support and acceptance.
During the five days, the children took part in a variety of activities combining adventure, games and teamwork. One of the most eagerly anticipated activities was a visit to a water park, where everyone had fun and enjoyed the excitement of summer. The ropes course was another major challenge, helping the participants overcome their fears, build trust in one another and support each other. Of course, the programme also included traditional scout games, hikes and activities in the beautiful natural surroundings of Karandila.
Alongside the adventures, the camp was also a time for building friendships and developing a stronger sense of community. Through everyday life together, conversations and shared activities, the children and animators experienced the values of the Scout Movement and Salesian pedagogy – respect, service, responsibility, solidarity and care for one another.
Inspired by the story of Narnia, the participants discovered that true strength lies not only in acts of courage, but also in our ability to be a family – to accept others, help one another and move forward together.
The camp ended with many smiles, new friendships and unforgettable memories. The children and animators left with enriching experiences, stronger relationships and the desire to embark on another scout adventure together.

Two other summer volunteers from the Czech Republic, Ivan Kolman and Viktoria Dvoryanskaya, also took part in the camp.
